In 2000 we started a small business selling tzitzit. In 2003 we expanded to several different styles and added tallit katans and laundry bags to give more variety and style. It has been interesting over the years seeing the orders we have received from different countries. We would like to send a big thank you to Rick Chaimberlin, editor of

TRADITIONAL Vs. ADONAI ECHAD tied Tzitzit

Traditional. By its construction and the name, the tzitzit reminds us of the 613 commandments. In Hebrew, 'tzitzit' is spelled tsade-yod-tsade-yod-tav. Each tsade has a numeric value of 90. Each yod has a value of 10. The tav has a numeric value of 400. Altogether the word 'tzitzit has a numberic value of 600 (tsade - 90; yod - 10; tsade - 90; yod - 10; tav - 400. Thus you have 90 + 10 + 90 + 10 + 400 = 600. Each of the tzitzit is made up of 8 threads, tied with 5 knots. 600 + 8 + 5 = 613. This reminds us of the 613 commandments.
Adonai Echad. Adonai in English means 'The Lord Is One.' Each of the tzitzit is made up of 8 threads and 5 separate windings (600 + 8 strings + 5 separate windings = 613). So not only does the tzitzit spell 'The Lord Is One' but it also reminds us of the 613 commandments. Thank you all for your support, and God bless!Sincerely, Tzitzit Etc.
